a little bit about me :)

Hello! I'm Etania, with a strong passion for creating user-centered interfaces. Currently, I am a UX/UI Designer at Helppo, a start-up bringing more accessibility to education for international students and tutors. Previously, I was a product designer at PrecisePK, where I combine my background in pharmacy with my dedication to delivering great user experiences. I graduated from Chapman University School of Pharmacy with a Doctorate in Pharmacy. Although I graduated with a degree in pharmacy, I've always had a passion in art and design. Starting from a young age, I would always be drawing and hand-making special occasion cards from scratch to give to family. As I grew, art stayed with me while other interests came and went. I took AP art classes in high school and continued to learn about modern art and design everywhere I went. In college, I continued to draw as a way to destress and whenever I had the chance, I would visit art festivals and museums to continue to learn about design around me. During my time in college, I designed graphics for organizations to increase community engagement and mentored incoming board members on what they can do to stay consistent with the graphics. As a healthcare worker, empathy was always emphasized in the care I gave and is something I want to continue to do in design.

Now that I’m in the field of UX/UI design, I want to continue building my skillset in user-centric design where I can continue to increase community engagement through design and interaction. I want to use my empathy skills I've built working in healthcare and use my design skills to create interfaces that is accessible to everyone. I want to always challenge myself to continue to learn and continue to use skills I've developed to work towards creating a culture of inclusion.

As well as having a passion in art and design, I also enjoy discovering new places to eat, going to concerts, visiting farmers markets and craft fairs, and hanging out with my pets. And when I'm not out and about, I love to go to the gym and pushing myself to get stronger everyday.
